INDIANAPOLIS – Volkswagen partners with Lincoln Tech for a new vocational training program.

The car dealership is in need of skilled mechanics, saying it has been difficult to find new workers for these jobs as many students are more interested in other careers involving computers or games.

The new partnership will provide Lincoln Tech students with the skills they need for these jobs upon graduation.

“Right now, I could find jobs for probably as many as two dozen technicians at the end of the day,” said Jeff Harrison, head of fixed operations at Volkswagen. “Future demand – the sky’s the limit, really. The more cars we sell, the more cars need maintenance, need service. The future is therefore really bright for technicians and mechanics. “
