He was convicted of stabbing Morgan Dunn in a house in Ayr on February 8 last year.

Buba fled after the murder as he dyed his hair and checked into hotels under a false name.

The cheeky killer bragged that the cops wouldn’t catch him as he repeatedly tried to dodge the arrest.

But he was eventually found by officers 11 days after the fatal blade attack.

Bauba and his victim had gone to a mutual friend’s house and posed for a photo together shortly before the stabbing.

The couple, who didn’t know each other before, ended up arguing and the two grabbed a knife from a kitchen counter.

Bauba first managed to grab the blade, then stabbed Dunn twice after a fight.

The Scottish Prison Service has confirmed that an investigation will now be launched into Buba’s death.

A spokesperson said: “Marius Buba, 28, a prisoner of HMP Shotts died on July 24, 2021.

“He was sentenced by the High Court in Glasgow in 2021. Scottish police have been notified and the case has been reported to the tax prosecutor.

“An investigation into a fatal accident will be organized in due course.”
