The Cirencester Leisure Center gym is undergoing a complete refurbishment

Cllr Jenny Forde, Council Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: ‘Residents have told us they want to improve their health and be more active, which is why it’s so important for us to make that investment and provide modern facilities for people to use.

“I am very pleased to have good news for our residents and that we are able to make these improvements in Cirencester.

“I am also looking forward to seeing the refurbishment completed at Bourton-on-the-Water. We hope the improvements will provide more workout options for people who want to get active, lose weight, get fit, and improve their overall well-being.

“Our leisure centers offer a range of different memberships and payment options for people of all ages and abilities to access these superb facilities. Everyone is welcome to join the gym, go swimming or take part in a fitness class like yoga or zumba! Please check out the great deals available at your council funded leisure centres. »

The Cirencester Leisure Center gym has been completely refurbished with new flooring and equipment. The new layout reflects the latest trends, with more space given to functional areas and free weights, as well as new cardiovascular equipment such as Arc Trainers, cross trainers, rowing machines and treadmills.

The new fitness equipment is also more energy efficient, reducing the gym’s energy demand and helping to tackle the climate crisis.

The renovations were delivered by our leisure providers SLM Everyone Active and are linked to a health and well-being investment proposal, which has been developed to ensure that the investment meets the needs and demands of local users.

Jamie Nesbit, Contracts Manager at Everyone Active, said: “We are delighted to confirm that the refurbishment of the gymnasium at Cirencester Leisure Center is now complete, giving our members access to high quality facilities for help to be active and stay healthy.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the gym so they can start enjoying the all-new gym space and state-of-the-art equipment. Bourton Leisure Center is due to be completed in mid-October, so members can visit Cirencester or nearby active Everyone sites, until we are ready to reopen.
